ED TAIT; President - began his development and construction career in 1971 in northern British Columbia, Canada, building single family homes.

His career moved steadily forward as his reputation for “no compromise” quality grew.  While he is known for his detail-orientated, “no nonsense” management style, he is also known for the sensible integration of emerging social and environmental technologies into projects he and CD & CSL are involved in.

Most recently CD & CSL has taken on management roles in such projects as Latoria Creek (new multi-family neighbourhood in Langford) and Spirit Bay, a new town development plan underway in Metchosin that involves the Scia'new First Nation.

CD & CSL took on the management of Dockside Green in Victoria, BC - the worlds highest accredited LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - a program run by the US and Canadian green Building Councils) development.  Integrating numerous sustainable technologies, Dockside Green is likely the most awarded and talked about green development project in the world.

Prior to Dockside Green, CD & CSL(Mexico) was charged with the set-up and launch of The Villages of Loreto Bay project, Baja California Sur, Mexico.  As the first person to arrive in Loreto, a small fishing village of 10,000 people with limited services, Ed and the fledgling team he built were required to establish construction operations, administration support and strong government, community and  media relations in preparation for the sale and development of approximately 500 homes per year in this remote location.

Prior to Loreto Bay, Ed was the project and construction manager for the Shoal Point project on the Inner Harbour of Victoria, B.C. Ed was responsible for the construction management of this multi-use complex which incorporated energy efficient building materials and technology, including passive solar orientation, energy-efficient envelope and low E glazing to name but a few.

Ed was a founding member of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and remains a member of PMI Canada and the Urban Development Institute.

In addition, he is a member of both the Canadian and the U.S. Green Building Councils and involved in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.

DARLENE TAIT brings her extensive experience in community development to the team.  She has led public, participatory planning sessions and created and executed Marketing and Communications Plans for developments in excess of 6,000 homes.  She continues to be sought after for her expertise in development planning, sales and marketing, communications, public relations and her "Marketing For Community ©" plan which recognizes and utilizes marketing as one of the key mechanisms to building strong, healthy communities.
Darlene has been a healthy community advocate since 1989 when her participation as a member of the Bamberton planning team introduced her to innovative town planning practices and ecologically and socially responsible development.

She has since traveled the world advocating for healthier development practices; as a speaker at the United Nations Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, to governments, universities and professional associations in Europe, South America, the US and Canada, Darlene has influenced leading practitioners in planning for better communities.

Her most recent work has included positions as the Director of Marketing for Westhills and, prior to that, The Villages of Loreto Bay.  Both of these 6,000 home projects were noted for their innovative social and environmental planning and her "Marketing For Community ©"strategies were employed to assist these developments in becoming communities well before the first homes were ever built.
